Xarelto

Xarelto, also known as rivaroxaban, is an oral anticoagulant drug. It was originally approved by the FDA in 2011 to prevent deep vein thrombosis in hip replacement patients. It was also later approved for the prevention of blood clots and strokes in patients with abnormal heart rhythm. However, tests have shown Xarelto to increase bleeding in some patients, causing the FDA to reject its use for other treatments.

Xeralto has also been found to cause other adverse side effects, including:

  • Severe and potentially fatal gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Vomiting of blood
  • Urine that is pink, red or brown in color
  • Stool that is red or black, resembling tar or coffee grounds
  • Brain hemorrhaging

While many are suffering from such side effects, sales of Xarelto are currently estimated at around $1 billion worldwide. And at Chenkin Law Firm, we don’t believe large pharmaceutical companies should be permitted to profit from those they hurt. We have taken on some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the industry, and we have the resources and experience to provide you with the best legal representation available.
